Intermediate Level Obedience Classes

Intermediate Companion Dog    
For grads of Puppy classes, Companion Dog Level 1, or equivalent. Students work on heel, long down-stay, sit & down from a distance, come with distractions, voice control and basic command response.

2 Day Mini-Session: Loose Leash Walking  

 

Training your dog on loose leash walking! Learn how to improve your leash handling skills and better your dog’s basic knowledge of leash manners.

3 Day Mini-Session: Good Manners & Games

Mini-Session: Puppy Ghostbusters (2-6 months)    
After taking this class, your puppy will fear nothing! Proper socialization is just as crucial for your pup as basic obedience. In this socialization/training course, puppies are exposed to different life situations and novel objects from vacuum cleaners, doorways, strollers, muzzles, canes to even kids, the elderly and maybe a man in uniform. Of course, we’ll also offer supervised play time and random sounds played on a CD. The course is a mini-session where each day the trainer will cover ways to socialize and show owners how proper introduction paired with positive experiences lead to well-rounded, confident adult dogs.

Specialty Classes

 

Starting Dates

 
Canine Good Citizen (CGC)    
Certification program for dogs with consistent, good manners. Class to include: greeting friendly strangers, walking on loose leash, walking through a crowd, staying in place. Dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.

The Bark & Lunge Club    

New class for dogs who pull, lunge, bark and/or whine when seeing other dogs on leash. Enrollees need basic obedience and must be altered. Due to the nature of dogs in this class, this is not appropriate for children.

Let’s Give Them a Job! Teach ways to entice your dog to complete a job, focusing their energy into an appropriate outlet.

Training for Bully Breeds   space

For dogs at least 6 months old who are Pit Bulls, Staffordshire Terriers, Bull Terriers, or mixes of these breeds. Owners/handlers will work on basic doggie manners, cover breed-specific issues and challenge obedience at a higher level of difficulty.
